Angry Birds reaches 200 million downloads

Angry Birds is stirring up techno-madness in the gaming world. Since its debut in 2009, it recently achieved 200 million downloads. In fact, Angry Birds has been entered into the Guinness Book of World Records for being the most downloaded application on a phone.

It has been downloaded over 6 million times since 2009, which may mean their fan count is nearly double this number. The game's popularity may be more popular than Pac-man  in the 1980s. This is the Internet game that will define the new technological era and connect generations who love playing flash games.

The game's theme centers around a series of birds that each desire to destroy the greedy pigs in the puzzle. The birds are inserted into the sling shot and then aimed at the pigs. Where the player aims takes skill and strategy. Each of the birds have their own talents and abilities. For instance, the blue bird triples while the yellow bird gains speed. It's the number one distraction of many commuters who are on public transportation.

One of the objectives of the game is to achieve three stars for each level of the game. This is the highest you can get on any level, but it is very difficult to achieve. This is one reason why this game is so addicting. When you think you should get 3 stars and you only receive 1, it leaves you sitting at the game trying to beat the level which could take a few minutes or longer.

The graphics are very well done, and the animation of the game is amazing. Although, players have to be careful: sometimes the birds want to go backwards. The sounds the birds make are sometimes humorous, but the pig sounds get old after awhile. It's easy to see how popular this game has become since it was first introduced. There are stuffed animals and other merchandise for those who love this game.

There are three different versions the users can download--Angry Birds, Angry Birds Seasons and Angry Birds Rio. There are also several places where people may go to download this popular game in either paid or free format. Among these are the Android and iPhone platforms, iPad, Playstation, Mac and Chrome browser. It's been reported that it will soon arrive on Facebook, Wii and Xbox as well.
