About 'The Daily Thoughts'

Welcome to my blog, 'The Daily Thoughts.' I began this blog as a way to show my clips to future employers. My name is Jennifer Brown, and I am a senior journalism major. I will be graduating in May with a concentration in writing/reporting.

I first began my journalism at Kishwaukee College as a reporter/photographer on the 'Kaleidoscope.' I worked on the newspaper for a year and transfered to Eastern IL University to work the same position on 'The Daily Eastern News.' Prior to this, however, I have had several poems published in anthologies.

I have worked as a freelance reporter for Mattoon Journal Gazette-Times Courier, and have freelanced for various websites. Currently, I am co-editor of 'Wavelength,' which is the public relations newsletter for WEIU-FM and WEIU-TV on campus.

My future career plans would be to start as a general assignments reporter either in a magazine or a newspaper. My strongest skills are in writing; however, if needed, I can design a news page as well.
